Born in the province of Guanacaste on June 29, 1952. Pedro has spent his entire life exploring and living off the land in this remote corner of Costa Rica. For many years, Pedro only ventured into the dense jungle in pursuit of game like the Tapir and Paca. Through the years, Pedro realized that conservation, rather than destruction, would provide the best future for his family and his people. Since then, he has dedicated his life to teaching others about the wealth that lies within the jungle and the reasons why we must fight to conserve it. Today, he is the symbol of what sustainable development has been trying to accomplish in Costa Rica since day one. Through hard work and dedication, Pedro and his family have turned a remote hunting and logging community into the champions of conservation and eco-tourism. Don't forget to ask Pedro about some of his many adventures!!
